Westerville, incorporated in 1858, became known as the “dry capital of the world” when the Anti-Saloon League settled here in 1909 and led the successful campaign for the 18th amendment prohibiting alcohol. The Westerville Public Library houses the Anti-Saloon League Museum, which contains printed materials used in the fight against alcohol, including posters, fliers and booklets, as well as the John R.
