Originally settled by Pennsylvania Quakers in 1805, Uxbridge has an abundance of sites honoring its heritage. The Uxbridge Quaker Meeting House, constructed in 1820 on the site of an earlier meeting house, is at 6800 Concession Rd. The Thomas Foster Memorial, a Byzantine-design mortuary chapel with a copper dome roof, bronze doors and stained glass–windows, was built in 1936 by former Toronto mayor Thomas Foster. The memorial is on Durham Road 1.

NATIONAL PARKAllegheny National Forest Allegheny National Forest extends 40 miles south from the New York-Pennsylvania border through the counties of Warren, Forest, Elk and McKean. The only national forest in Pennsylvania, its approximately 517,000 acres include 500 miles of fishing streams, 272 miles of hiking and cross-country ski trails, 300 miles of snowmobile trails and 108 miles of trail-bike and ATV routes. NATIONAL PARKFort Necessity National Battlefield Eleven miles east of Uniontown on US 40, Fort Necessity National Battlefield surrounds a reconstruction of the fort built by George Washington in 1754. The Battle of Fort Necessity, in which Washington led the Colonial Virginia Regiment alongside the British regulars from South Carolina against a strong force of French and Native Americans, occurred at the site on July 3, 1754.
