Personally prepurchasing the entrance tickets on Viator site, in case you want to visit them inside, for the Colosseum, for a 09.45 / 10 am entrance and the Vatican Museum tickets for 01.30 or 02.00 pm , you will be able to enter them avoiding line (Just lining for security controls), visiting in addition all the other Rome highlights.
