The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa

Upon arriving, we were early for check in, we were told we would get a call when the room was ready. After waiting a couple of hours we inquired about the room and was told it had been ready (didn’t receive a call). They did give us a couple of vouchers for a free drink and apps. During our 3 night stay we did not receive any room service we were told they were short staffed. When we called or spoke to front desk staff they said they would have items sent to room ( coffee, water, couple of clean towels) we did not receive them. At checkout we asked to talk to the manager was told she was busy and would give us call. We never received a call.

The phone in our room took a message while we were out in the morning of March 15th. When we returned to the room, the message light was flashing, but when you pushed the button to get the message you only received a busy signal. So, I was concerned about what the message may have been. We waited about an hour for an "engineer" to come try and fix it, but the message was not retrievable. We felt we lost a good hour of daylight on this attempt. The "engineer" said he would have a new phone switched out for that one, but that never happened. It was annoying. Also the faucet in the tub had been pulled out and was loose. It seemed like they may have needed more engineers on staff. The location was great and the food in the restaurant was delivered while hot and cooked perfectly. There is no free coffee in the mornings. That is surprising for a hotel where the room fees are well over $200.00/night. The pools are beautiful and well kept. Unfortunately for us the weather was much colder than we expected on this date, so the beach and pool were empty due to temps in the high forties/low fifties.
