Hilton Garden Inn Albany Airport

Absolutely terrible. Called ahead of time to let them know we'd be arriving late, wanted to make sure that would be okay and our reservation wouldn't be given away. The person I talked to dismissively told me it would be fine. On the night of our arrival, we flew in to the Albany airport late, as we said we would. Went to the shuttle area with our two small kids who were very tired. Called the hotel for the shuttle and were told our room had been given away, despite our reservation. Again, very rude. Never experienced anything like it. In both cases the people I spoke to had no interest in speaking to me, were completely dismissive. I can't for the life of me understand how this is a AAA approved hotel. I had seen some bad reviews but thought it couldn't be that bad if it was AAA and Hilton, which I've never had a bad experience with. This was the exception. Do not make the same mistake I did. I encountered nothing but rudeness, incompetence, and a reservation that was not honored, despite my calling ahead of time to ensure it would be there. We had to scramble to find another hotel and arrange for transportation at 1:00am, you don't want to be in that position.

Comfortable, quiet and convenient

The staff wonderful was during my stay. Sydney, at the front desk was so helpful when my taxi to my next destination was unexpectedly not available. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone flying into Albany. It was also nice having a restaurant on location.
