7 Nights - Western Caribbean from New Orleans, LA

Booked five cabins; upon boarding and accessing cabins we were hit immediately with smell of tobacco smoke. Raised concerns with housekeeping. Ozone machines were placed in cabins with minimal effectiveness. Raised concern with customer support; we were assured they would investigate and return a call to us. Calls were received intermittently days later. Another face to face discussion led to one room change (nice room) and admission by the customer rep that ship venting on starboard side was connected to casino smoking area. That, plus the music noise until 2 am marginalized our cruise experience. DO Not sail on the Liberty in a room below the 8th deck. We’ve sailed six different cruise lines and have probably taken our last with Carnival. Consideration of $100 per cabin was offered for on board credit and $44 for our cabin . At one point it was suggested family members were responsible for smoke smell. The issue was identified before we set sail.

Not so thrilled with ports. Ship, food and cabin were really nice. Wanted a relaxing experience. This was more of a party boat but we found some quiet places to enjoy.

Excellent cruise for short term duration and younger crowd. Party atmosphere, but plenty of opportunity to retreat and relax, as well as plenty of activities around the ship. Highly recommend the drink package Cheers, prepay gratuity, and Faster to the Fun for easy onboarding/debarkation.

Most of the employees were rude and not helpful. They berated us for asking for help. They also acted as if we were bothering them. Sherein at the bar was helpful and our room attendant Komang was also great. They also took a drone we had and stated it was in the contract which we did not see in the contract. We asked where and they couldn't tell us where in the contract. In addition we went through security several times with this drone and nobody said anything. During the last day someone took it from us. When we attempted to get it back none of the employees really knew where the drone was. We were given the run around. The only thing that was good was the dolphin excursion due to the guy who was our attendant there. I forgot his name but he was great also. It is sad when I can say out of everyone on this cruise as employees only 3 folks were helpful and nice. I would never do Carnival again due to the treatment to me and my family. I will make sure I let everyone know as well not to sail with Carnival and to choose another cruise liner. **Update: I forgot to add that the food was terrible. They provided cold food especially towards the end of the cruise. They just didn't care anymore. Even when you asked for more they looked at you like you were asking for the world. Well I'm a grown adult and you gave me a teaspoon of macaroni and cheese and a teaspoon of baked beans as if I was a toddler. We went to customer relations to verify the disembark process and the letter pretty much scolded us asking if we "read" the letter. I explained that I read it however, what she is advising is not what was in the letter so we are asking for clarity she asked again if we read it. At this point I was upset because she was not listening to our question. She was listening to respond and not to understand. I forgot to add when we first go there we asked an employee a question and she yelled "What I am working here. Do you need something?" It was horrible. Their staff was very rude and not helpful at all.
