Campground Overview
Introduction
Sprague Creek is a small campground located on the northeast shore of Lake McDonald, just off Going-to-the-Sun Road. Towed units (vehicle plus unit) and RVs exceeding 21 feet are not permitted in this campground. The campground is located within trees, providing shade during warm summers. Some sites near the shore have unobstructed views of Lake McDonald. Reservations are required to camp at Sprague Creek Campground. Click the reservation button below for details.

Sprague Creek Campground is generally open from late May to late September.
Weather
Glacier's weather is highly variable and can be extreme. Warm days and cool nights are the norm in summer. Even when it's in the 80s and 90s in the daytime it can cool down into the 40s at night. Hikers setting out on a warm summer day, should still bring along rain gear and lots of extra clothing. Dressing in layers is key to a comfortable visit all year long.

Sprague Creek Campground is located on the northeast shore of Lake McDonald approximately 9.5 miles (15.2 km) from the West Entrance of the park.

Campsite capacity is limited to eight people and two vehicles, where space is available. A maximum of two tents per site is permitted.

Camping is permitted only in designated campgrounds. Utility hook-ups are not provided, and connection to water, sewer, or electrical outlets is prohibited. Between July 1 and Labor Day, camping in the park is limited to 14 days, either in a single period or combined separate periods. Between Labor Day and June 30, camping in the park is limited to 30 days, either in a single period or combined separate periods. Campsite capacity is limited to eight people and two vehicles, where space is available. A maximum of two tents per site is permitted. Sites may not be left unattended for over 24 hours. Check out time is noon. If staying another night, re-register by 11:30 am. Secure your valuables in a locked vehicle out of sight. Campground speed limits are 10 mph. Bicyclists are responsible for complying with all traffic regulations and are permitted only on roadways.Accessibility

Additional Information
Amenities such as a camp store, resturant, gift shop, tour buses, boat tours, and horse rides can be found at the historic Lake McDonald Lodge, about a mile away from the campground. Evening programs with a ranger are located at Apgar and Fish Creek Campgrounds.
