Campground Overview

Introduction

Rush Campground is a first come, first serve campground in the lower district of the park. Rush has 12 tent only sites with no electrical amenities and no flush restrooms. Drinking water is available when fees are collected March 15 - November 14. It is free to camp at Rush in the winter. All sites are limited to 6 people per site and each site is $16 per night. This is a pack in/pack out facility, trash collection is not available.

Operating Hours

The turn off to Rush Campground is about 12 miles south of Yellville and 23 miles north of Marshall, Arkansas off of Highway 14. The campground is located 5 miles down at the end of County Road 6035. The campground has 12 campsites. All 12 sites are open to tents only. Potable water is available March 15-November 15. The vault toilet is open year-round, but with very limited servicing in winter season.

Weather

Summer in the Ozarks can be very hot and humid. Please check the weather forecast prior to your arrival and plan accordingly. The weather the rest of the year has the potential to be wet and cool or dry and warm. Please pay special attention to river levels and the rain forecast when planning a trip on the river. River levels can rise dramatically in a short period of time so please be aware of conditions.

Directions

From Yellville the turnoff to the Rush Campground is approximately 12 miles south on Highway 14. Turn onto County Road 6035 and follow the road approximately 4 miles to the Rush Town area. Past the Rush town about 1 mile the road forks. Bear to the right and the campground will be at the end of the road.

Rush Campground Fee

Sites at Rush are $16.00 per site, per night with a total of 6 people permitted on each site. Fees are charged when water is available (March 15 - November 14). No fees are charged during the winter when water systems are shut down. A vault restroom is available, no flush restrooms. Please pay with cash or check at the self-pay registration station located within the campground. All sites are first come, first serve. This is a pack in/pack out facility, trash services are not available.

Fire/Stove Policy

Please keep fires in the designated fire rings. Cook stoves are allowed.

Regulations Overview

Quiet hours are between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Generators may be used between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Maximum length of stay in campground is 14 consecutive days. Use the trash receptacles for all other refuse. These measures will help prevent nuisance wildlife and keep the campground clean. Washing anything in the river is prohibited. You may use dead and down wood for firewood. All fires should be completely out when campsite is unattended. At all times, pets must be confined or on a leash not more than 6 feet in length. Pets should not be left unattended. Clean up after pets. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY: contact Park Dispatch at 888-692-1162. Report all accidents and lost and found property to a ranger.
