Campground Overview

Introduction

Horse campers must bring their own horses. Sites have a picnic table, fire ring with grill, and hitching posts. Sites are $80 per night. Maximum 6 people and 6 horses. Up to six vehicles or trailers. Reservations are required 10/16 - 4/14.

Tents, trailers and recreational vehicles (no hookups). Sites have a picnic table and a fire ring. Sites are $80 per night.

Vehicle Entrance Fee

All vehicles are subject to an entrance fee. Entrance fee is valid for 1-7 days for reentry into the park. Current Assateague Pass, IA-Annual Pass, IA-Senior Pass, IA-Access Pass. IA-4th Grade, IA-Military Pass, IA Golden Age Passport and IA-Golden Access Passport are valid for entry.

Fire/Stove Policy

Campers may not bring firewood from out of state. Firewood must be purchased locally.

Regulations Overview

Each campsite will accommodate up to six people and six horses. Campsites include hitching posts, fire rings, picnic tables, restrooms and potable water. Do not leave your horse unattended. Wild horses are present in all areas of the park and may frighten your animals. Use processed feed to eliminate introducing weed seeds into the park. Never leave feed where wildlife can get it. Only tie horses to the hitching posts. Campers are allowed to bring portable corrals. Remove all manure piles within the campsite

    All visitor centers, most nature trails, bathhouses and wayside exhibits are accessible. America the Beautiful - Access Pass National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass This is a free, lifetime pass for U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States that have been medically determined to have a permanent disability. The pass provides access to, and use of, Federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standard Amenity fee. It replaces the Golden Access Pass. Golden Access passes may be exchanged free of charge. Beach wheelchairs with balloon tires are available for use on the oceanside beaches in Maryland and Virginia.
