Weather

The Washington, DC, area has a four-season Mid-Atlantic climate. Summertime is warm and humid, while winter can be cold and snowy. Spring: During these months of transition, the weather can alternate from warm, humid air coming from the south to cold, dry air coming from the northwest. Be prepared for changing conditions. Summer: The warmest months are June, July, and August, with average highs in the 80s (~31 ?) combined with high humidity. Fall: Expect a drop in temperature and humidity in September

Directions

Take Exit 23 Route 201 Kenilworth Avenue South(toward Bladensburg). (this will be a left). Drive on Kenilworth Avenue (Route 201). Once crossing over I-95, you will see sign for Route 193 Greenbelt Road. Veer right to Take Route 193 East. Take a left on Greenbelt Road . (Greenbelt Road is Route 193 and is an overpass over Route 201) The park entrance is a quarter mile on the right hand side of Greenbelt Road. The campground is located two miles from the park entrance.

Fire/Stove Policy

Fires must be contained in the grills. Campfires must be completely put out before departure, leaving the site for any reason, and bedtime.

Regulations Overview

Three tents and six people per site. No attachments to trees. All vehicles must be parked on the asphalt pad. All campfire must be contained in the grill. B loop rv limit is 32 feet (including tow vehicle). D loop rv limit is 40 feet (including tow vehicle). In accordance with the Superintendent's Compendium, these are some of the camping regulations that apply at the Greenbelt Park Campground. Violation of these regulations may result in a fine and/or revocation of your camping permit reservation without a refund.

    Campground Loop A has a wheelchair-accessible stall in the comfort station. Campground Loop B has one comfort station with a wheelchair-accessible stall and shower. Campground Loop C has two restrooms with paved paths and accessible stalls. Campground D has two comfort stations; one has wheelchair-accessible stalls and a paved ramp. Paved walkways approach each comfort station. For each campsite, there is a step down from the parking space to the campsite.

    There are local public wifi internet access outside the park available two miles from the campground. Greenbelt Library (three miles from the campground) has internet and computer access.

    Grocery stores and other amenities (gas stations,restaurants, etc.) available three miles from the campground. Hot showers available for registered campers.

    Sites 68 and 69 have van-accessible parking. Comfort station located in the middle of the campground is not wheelchair accessible. There are two paved and mostly level pathways on the left side of the comfort station that are about 16 feet in length. There is a 3-foot perimeter of concrete around the comfort station. The concrete border does not directly blend with the ground; there is a step. Each bathroom has one shower. There are two horizontal grab bars under the showerhead and one 38-inch-wide bench across from the showerhead. The bench does not have a back or armrest. There are two hooks next to the bench.
