Campground Overview
Introduction
The Fort Pickens Campground is one of the top ten busiest campgrounds in all of the 430+ national parks and sites. Available all year round it provides access to white sandy beaches and trails, including the Florida National Scenic Trail. The campground office is located in a historic white building located halfway down Fort Pickens Areas on Fort Pickens Road. Office hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Checkout by 11 a.m. Check-in begins at 2 p.m.
Campsite Details
Operating Hours
This campground loop is open year round. The gate into the Fort Pickens Area closes at 8 p.m. in the summer, and 6 p.m. in the winter. Campground Registration is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Check-in is after 2 p.m. and check out is 11 a.m.
Weather
The hot-season lasts for approximately four months, from mid-May through the end of September. Average daily high temperatures during this season exceed 84°F. Daily low temperatures during this season average 77°F. The cool-season for park lasts approximately three months, December through February. From Interstate 10: Take Exit 12 for I-110 South, exit 1B Gregory Street East, merge onto 30 E Chase Street, turn left onto Bayfront Parkway /Hwy 98 East, merge onto Hwy 399 to beaches, cross toll bridge ($1.00), turn right onto Fort Pickens Road.

Rules & Regulations
Fire/Stove Policy
In developed campgrounds fires may be built in permanent grills (charcoal only) or fire rings at designated sites. Portable grills may be used at designated campsites by registered campers. Portable grills are not allowed on the beaches unless in an area where authorized beach fires are allowed.Regulations Overview
Front country camping is allowed by persons who have made a valid reservation for an individual campsite at the Fort Pickens Campground. Campers must obey all laws, regulations, and policy, particularly those listed in the Superintendent's Compendium Section 2.10.Accessibility
