Vue Orleans Observation Deck
2 Canal St, New Orleans, LA, 70130
Vue Orleans Observation Deck offers some of the best views in the Big Easy from its indoor and outdoor observation decks on the 33rd and 34th floors of the Four Seasons Hotel. While the 360-degree vistas overlooking the Mississippi River are the main draw, there’s also a café and plenty of interactive exhibits with audio-visual elements.
The basics
The Vue Orleans experience starts on the ground floor, where you board elevators lined with massive screens that play a show as they begin their ascent to the 33rd-floor indoor deck. Here you can check out the skyline with the help of digital Vue Finders, take in a film at the Vue River Theater, or check out exhibits on everything from music and culture to Mardi Gras costumes. On the top floor outdoor deck, you can enjoy city views and grab a drink at the Vue Orleans Café.
You can pre-book all-inclusive tickets to Vue Orleans that include a signature drink and a tour or just book an admission ticket (or ticket-and-drink combo) and opt to add on a tour later, subject to availability.
Things to know before you go
Note that the outdoor observation deck on the 34th floor can close due to weather conditions, but the main 33rd-floor deck is always open.
Vue Orleans is wheelchair-accessible.
Certified service animals and service animals in training are allowed, but they must be 12 months or older.
Large bags or luggage aren’t permitted inside, and storage facilities are not available.
How to get there
Vue Orleans is located by the Canal Street ferry terminal and Canal Street station (on the Canal Streetcar Line). The easiest way to get there from the French Quarter or the Central Business District (CBD) is on foot or by taking a hop-on, hop-off bus. Drivers can park at the nearby WTC parking lot and receive a discount if visiting Vue Orleans.
When to get there
Vue Orleans is open from Thursday to Monday, morning until evening, and is typically busiest at weekends. If you're visiting in winter, it's worth coming about 90 minutes before closing to catch the sunset and have enough time to view its exhibits. The sun starts to set well after closing time during the summer months.
The Best Views in New Orleans
While Vue Orleans may offer some of the best views in town, it's not the only great place to take in the scenery. For pretty (but slightly lower) views, head to Hot Tin, an indoor-outdoor bar on the roof of the Pontchartrain Hotel. For a particularly elevated experience, book a flightseeing tour and soar over the city.
