The Gap and Natural Bridge
Albany, Western Australia
The Gap and Natural Bridge are two aptly-named natural rock formations on the coast of Torndirrup National Park in Western Australia. A raised walkway across the granite cliffs offers visitors a safe route across to two viewpoints, where you can take in incredible views of the Southern Ocean below.
The basics
Torndirrup National Park is home to a string of natural attractions along its coast, amongst which The Gap and Natural Bridge are two of the most popular. Each viewing terrace is a short walk from the parking lot, so 15–20 minutes should be enough time to explore and enjoy the views. If you continue to sightsee in the national park, Cable Beach, the Cave Point Lighthouse, and the Blowholes are all close by. Tours of Torndirrup National Park typically include a stop at The Gap and Natural Bridge, among other highlights such as the Stony Hill, Peak Head, and Albany's Historic Whaling Station.
