The Forks Market
Winnipeg, MB
The dining and shopping options are near-endless at The Forks Market in Winnipeg. Occupying a building that was formerly horse stables and a hayloft, the market is home to an eclectic food hall serving the best in local and international flavors, as well as more than 50 stores where you can purchase items made by local Winnipeggers.
The basics
The food hall occupies the ground floor of The Forks Market, where vendors serve everything from fish and chips, pizza, and burgers to Filipino, Sri Lankan, Greek, and Caribbean cuisine. Upstairs, the second-floor is home to the Faire, where local makers sell candles, ceramics, clothing, jewelry, and more. Other notable vendors include Winnipeg’s own Manitobah Mukluks, an internationally-known mukluks and moccasin business; and Teekca’s Aboriginal Boutique, which sells items crafted by Indigenous artisans.
City sightseeing tours of Winnipeg often include a stop at The Forks Market, as well as visiting local landmarks, such as Saint Boniface and the Manitoba Legislative Building.
