With its Douglas fir features and a curved roof that resembles a bald eagle in flight, the striking design of the Squamish Adventure Centre references its surroundings. The center is a hub for visitors to the area, offering information on outdoor activities in Squamish and views of the imposing granite dome of the Stawamus Chief.
Head inside the visitor center and select from a range of outdoor adventures, from guided hikes to rock climbing lessons to kayaking excursions. If you’re confident exploring solo, you can rent gear such as mountain bikes and stand-up paddleboards, and consult staff about trails, travel, and activities in the Squamish and Howe Sound area. There’s also a cafe, a small play area, and a gift shop selling First Nations artworks and craft pieces, and a small movie theater that typically shows videos covering the history and nature of the surrounding area.

Go hiking or rock climbing at Stawamus Chief Provincial Park, known for its 2,300-foot (700-meter) tall granite tower; get bird’s-eye views of the Howe Sound and Coast Mountains from the Sea to Sky Gondola; and hear the roar of the 1,100-foot (335-meter) tall Shannon Falls.
