Mother Road Brewing Company
7 South Mikes Pike St., Flagstaff, AZ
Mother Road Brewing Company is named after John Steinbeck's nickname for Route 66 in "Grapes of Wrath," and is located right off the historic road in downtown Flagstaff. Since opening in 2011, the brewery has become Arizona's third-largest independent craft brewer and a go-to local hang in northern Arizona's high-country, adventure-obsessed university town.
Experience some of Flagstaff's best craft beer scene, warm hospitality, and lively spirit at Mother Road Brewing Company. Core beers like Sunday Drive and Tower Station are always on tap, alongside limited releases. While the taproom does not serve food or allow outside food to be brought in, pick up something to nosh on at the "Roadside Stove Kitchen," serving Cajun, Creole, and Barbecue bites from Satchmo’s Cajun & Barbecue.
For families with young children, there are games and toys in the taproom, a changing station in the bathroom, and a selection of sodas and non-alcoholic beverages.
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed on the patio with their owners.
Whether visitors try the brewery's long-standing classics or creatively brewed experiments, there is a large outdoor beer garden or indoor tasting room where they can sip beers.
Head to Flagstaff's Southside Neighborhood, just south of Route 66 and next to the Northern Arizona University campus, to find Mother Road Brewing Company at 7 South Mikes Pike. Cross streets are Route 66 and West Phoenix Ave. There is a parking lot on site and plenty of spots for street parking.
Mother Road Brewery is open afternoons and evenings daily. The brewery opens at noon Friday through Sunday and 2pm all other days. Sunday through Wednesday, the taproom is open until 9pm and 10pm on Thursday through Saturday. Check the Mother Road Brewing Company website or social media for events like live music on First Fridays, Growler Sundays, and themed astronomy, arts, and science nights.
If you love the unique flavors of Mother Road Brewing Company's fruit-blended IPAs or the chocolate aromas bursting from a certain hearty stout, there are ways to get the brews offsite. The brewery website has a handy "Beer Finder'' for restaurants, bars, and retailers that stock or sell their beers.
