McLane Stadium

If you’re visiting McLane Stadium for the first time, it should be for a Baylor football game. Prepare for a long day of tailgating, even for 6pm games, as the parking lots open at 8am. If you’re visiting in the off-season, it’s still worth touring this multi-million-dollar stadium. Public 90-minute guided tours and private group tours can be arranged; both cover the history of the stadium, the football program and how this site’s new construction enhances Waco’s downtown development.

• You can “sailgate” for football games by reserving a boat slip in the Baylor Basin.

• Only clear bags are permitted during Baylor football games.

• Touchdown Alley is a free pregame fan fest area open two hours before the game.

McLane Stadium is located on the Baylor University campus on the northern side of Lake Brazos at 1001 S. M.L.K. Jr. Blvd. You can reach the stadium immediately after exiting Interstate 35; on-site parking is available. You can also walk across the river from the south side of the campus.

When to arrive at McLane Stadium depends on whether you visit for a game, a separate event, or a tour. Game days are the most crowded, with large amounts of pedestrian and vehicle traffic, especially during football games when the freshman crowd creates the Baylor Line. Arrive for game days and special events at least 30 to 60 minutes before the start; arrive for your tour 15 minutes prior.

McLane Stadium offers dedicated tours, but it’s not the only site on Baylor’s campus open for touring. The entire Baylor University campus is available for guest touring, even if you’re not a prospective student. Self-guided tours are possible thanks to downloadable maps on the school’s website, while guided tours of the campus can be arranged in advance.
