Located in the heart of Waikiki in Honolulu, Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu was the first Hard Rock to open in Hawaii. Spanning two floors, the café features a shop on the first floor and dining and bar options on the second floor, along with a ceiling of guitars, rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia, an interactive Rock Wall, and frequent live music.

The basics

Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu opened in 1987 and moved to its present location in 2000. Visitors can browse the shop or take a virtual tour of other locations via the first floor's interactive Rock Wall. Then, follow an artistic ceiling of guitars up the stairs to the open-air second floor to drink at the blue wave bar or dine in the main area or lanai. Purchase a prix-fixe menu ahead of time for priority seating.

When to get there

The café is open daily, from mid-morning to late evening. Friday and Saturday nights get especially busy, and reservations are recommended, especially in Oahu's high season. Happy Hour is offered Monday through Friday. Check the website for the latest schedule of live performances, which changes frequently.

Notable memorabilia

All of the rotating memorabilia on display at the Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu has a connection to Hawaii. Notable items include a guitar given to Elvis Presley by Hawaii Five-O star Jack Lord, a Beatles guitar from when the band played in Hawaii, Ziggy Marley’s army jacket after a show on Oahu, and items from local favorites including singer-songwriter Jack Johnson and the band Pepper.
