POINT OF INTEREST

Brooklyn Flea

Brooklyn, New York City

Shop vintage clothes, unique collectibles, and more at the weekly, seasonal Brooklyn Flea, one of the borough's largest flea markets. The primary location is in the Dumbo neighborhood, near the scenic Brooklyn waterfront. Browse records, antiques, homewares, jewelry, art, and more on a visit to this outdoor market. Located in the Dumbo Archway, Brooklyn Flea also offers a full bar.

The basics

Furniture vendors, local artisans, and vintage clothing sellers set up shop at the Brooklyn Flea on Saturdays and Sundays from April through December. The market is a weekend destination, perfect for a leisurely browse and stroll while in Dumbo. While shopping is the main attraction, Brooklyn Flea is also good for people-watching or grabbing a drink. Most visitors spend about an hour perusing the offerings, which include everything from vintage glassware to jewelry by local designers.

Things to know before you go

  • Brooklyn Flea is a top attraction for people who love to shop and those seeking unique gifts and souvenirs.
  • This Brooklyn seasonal market is closed during the winter months of January, February, and March.
  • There are some cobblestones at the Flea's location, which may be challenging for people using wheelchairs and strollers.
  • This seasonal (April-December) outdoor market is open rain or shine.
  • Most vendors take cash or credit cards, but you may want to bring cash.

How to get there

Brooklyn Flea is located at 80 Pearl Street in the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn. The nearest subway stations are the F train at York Street and, slightly further, the A or C trains at High Street. With excellent views of the Manhattan Bridge and the Brooklyn waterfront, this location offers much to explore in addition to the market. Parking can be challenging; public transportation or arrival by taxi or rideshare is recommended.

When to get there

This seasonal market is open from April through December, from midmorning to early evening. For the best choice, arrive first thing in the morning when booths are well-stocked. If you're seeking deals, come closer to the end of the day, when vendors may be more willing to bargain. Brooklyn Flea is popular for holiday gift shopping (November and December).

Sister flea markets

Looking for more flea markets? A sister market in the Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea (at 29 West 25th Street) is open all year round, from morning to evening on Saturdays and Sundays. A second market in Brooklyn, new in 2024, is available in Williamsburg on Meeker Avenue between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street. Check the website for up-to-date schedules.
