How to Get There

The most convenient way to reach the Aquarium du Quebec, located about 15 minutes from downtown, is by car: Take Highway 73 to Exit 132. Alternatively, you can take the bus—both the 13 and 25 bus lines stop nearby—or hop on one of the private shuttles that run between Old Quebec and the aquarium.

When to Get There

Though the aquarium is a great year-round destination, summer visitors will get the most use out of the 19-acre (16-hectare) property, including the scenic riverfront picnic area. The aquarium is busiest on weekends, so you can avoid the crowds by visiting on a week day.

Where to Stroll Along the St. Lawrence River

After enjoying the exhibits at the aquarium, you can stretch your legs with a riverside stroll on the Promenade Samuel-De Champlain. Just steps from the aquarium entrance, this 1.5 mile (2.5 kilometer) park and boardwalk follows the Sillery coast from the Pierre Laporte Bridge. If you're up for a workout, don't forget your running shoes or bicycle—the promenade is a favorite spot for joggers and cyclists.
