A variety of productions is presented mid-May to early November by the Thousand Islands Playhouse at two venues: the Springer Theater at 690 Charles St. S. and the Firehall Theatre at 185 South St. Phone (613) 382-7020 or (866) 382-7020.
At Half Moon Bay, in the Admiralty of the Thousand Islands, non-denominational church services are held from a rock pulpit at the edge of a natural amphitheater during July and August. The congregation remains in boats, and ushers distribute hymnals and collect offerings in canoes.
A growing collection of historical murals can be viewed downtown, including one depicting the Half Moon Bay church service. Popular area recreational activities include bicycling, golfing, boating, fishing, hiking and snowmobiling. The 1000 Islands Parkway, which runs between Gananoque and Brockville along the St. Lawrence River shoreline, offers breathtaking scenery.
