The Chehalis Western Trail is a recreation trail following the route of a logging railroad that operated from 1926 into the mid-1980s. The paved, 6.5-mile north segment, suitable for horseback riding, connects Martin Way and Lindsley Lane S.E. with Puget Sound at Woodard Bay. Offering walkers, runners, bikers and roller bladers views of Mount Rainier, the 16-mile paved south segment connects 14th Avenue S.E. at Chambers Lake with SR 507, 2 miles west of Rainier, where it connects with the 14.5-mile Yelm-Tenino Trail.
