Visitors can stroll the grounds of the Ogden Tabernacle and Temple, 350 22nd St. Also of interest to visitors is Weber State University's Ott Planetarium, which occasionally presents free planetarium shows open to the public. Municipal Gardens , 25th Street and Washington Boulevard, is a park containing 5 acres of gardens lined with gaslit paths. It also has picnic facilities. Santa's Village and an international Christmas display are set up in the park between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
North of Ogden is Willard Bay State Park; varied recreational activities are available March through November. Ogden Canyon, east on 12th Street, has numerous faults and erosion patterns that attract both expert and novice explorers.
Rodeos, horse racing, the Weber County Fair, outdoor concerts, and soccer and softball games all take place at the Golden Spike Event Center, 1000 North 1200 West. For schedule information phone (801) 399-8798. Late July is highlighted by the Pioneer Days Rodeo and Celebration.
