Okanagan and Skaha lakes, at opposite ends of the city, offer ample expanses of shoreline for recreational pursuits. A popular summer activity is floating down the 8-kilometre (5-mi.) river channel from the mouth of Okanagan Lake to Skaha Lake. The channel has rest and picnic areas and is paralleled by a bicycle path and a jogging trail. The Casabella Princess , a 48-passenger paddlewheeler departing from Penticton Marina, takes passengers on a 1-hour cruise of the south end of Okanagan Lake or on a 2-hour dinner cruise (June-Sept.); phone (250) 215-2779.
