Overview

Since the Renaissance, and thanks to the will of the Kings of France, Lyon has become the capital of French silk. An ancestral know-how that is now part of the identity of the city. With your guide, you will discover the old workshops and attend a weaving demonstration. Then you will descend the slopes of the hill of Croix Rousse to reach the district of Terreaux, and follow the steps of the Canuts, the famous weavers of Lyon. Then it is in a silk painting workshop that you will complete your journey. You can admire the different techniques used by the Lyonnais to give all their colors to the most noble fabrics.
