Indigo Hotel is now "Tonelle Hotel" as of 72 hours before we arrived. The hotel did not meet many of the expectations that were listed on our printout from AAA. It had been redecorated... but that is the least of the differences. 1. Our room phone did not work--we could not reach the lobby. They said they would fix it, but during our five day stay it was not fixed. 2. Someone CAME INTO OUR ROOM WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS ASLEEP. No knock or announcement, around 7:00 pm... possibly later. My son and I were in the French Quarter having a walk and then we went to a bar. She called and told us someone had walked in, and that she called the lobby, but the phone didn't work. She went down there and they said it was maintenance and they had the wrong room. They told her they would make it up to us by giving us free food... but we are in New Orleans, we didn't want hotel food. She had them call a cab to meet us, and of course they made her pay for it. Frankly, I was really upset-- as her mom, when she called her brother and me and told me someone had walked in her room--it freaked me out.... I spoke with who I thought was the manager the next day. I managed to get free bottles of water and coffee. 3. The list of things promised on the list from AAA was that the hotel would manage any tours. I had called a couple of weeks prior to our trip and talked to the front desk about swamp and ghost tours. They told me that they would be happy to book them. However, when I went to the front desk, they would not help us book any tours. I reminded them of my conversation with the front desk a week or so earlier--and they told me that they could just recommend a place. The woman, who was "helping with the transition to Tonelle Hotels" was not friendly or accomodating, "We do not book tours here." 4. There was no hair dryer 5. There was not enough towels, even though we requested three, not two, every day. 6. There were homeless people sleeping in front of the hotel 7. The decor looked nothing like the picture. 8. The coffee maker in the room did not work. 9. They did not ever give me any kind of receipt for my room, and I am concerned it didn't match the price I was quoted from AAA, I asked them for a receipt, but did not get one. 10. There was no fitness room--like AAA claimed on its description of the hotel. I would have gone with an Airbnb had I known how awful this hotel experience was going to be.
