Comfort Suites University Research Park

Staff didn't clean our room for three nights prompting one of the managers or clerk to move us into a clean room. That room wasn't cleaned again until the day before we left (three days later). In the 1st room there was only lukewarm water until after the second person took their shower. The room is way overdue for renovation as well as the seating area down near the breakfast area with worn out cushions. We were so glad to check out. We have photos but not worth it.

People have rough days and the service industry is suffering to retain employees. Therefore I understand longer waits or some things being missed. However, the receptionist never made eye contact to welcome me after waiting for several minutes. It was 11:30pm when I checked in and there was not a line of checkins. Upon arriving in the room, i was disappointed at AAAs 3 diamond review. -The pull out sofa was unmade and the mattress covered in crumbs and stains were present on mattress and cushions. -unchecked garbage stacked at elevators -the top quilts had black stains -the room smelled like mildew -bathroom fan was not operational (hence the mildew smell) -the kick board carpet was literally falling off the wall. -water damage in the chest of drawers -door had damage around the lock/handle from the outside. -although minor, the sheets and pillows were cheap: poly sheets and pillows which were “tucked” into themselves about the size of a 12x12 couch cushion - no support for even a side sleeper. . We had visited Carowinds that day and decided the hotel was not somewhere to eat the complementary breakfast. At check out, the new employee was much kinder and upbeat giving everyone individual attention.
