Mount Shasta State Fish Hatchery and Sisson Museum, .5 mi. w. of I-5 exit 738 (Central Mount Shasta) at 1 N. Old Stage Rd., produces 3 to 5 million trout annually to stock the streams and lakes of northern California. The museum has exhibits pertaining to the region's geological and human history, including volcanoes, the history of the railroad, and the unusual lenticular clouds that form over Mount Shasta. There also is a display of Native American basketry. The museum also features many activities for kids. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
