One of only a handful of nighttime attractions in Agra,Mohabbat the Taj takes audience members back hundreds of years to tell the story of Mumtaz, for whom the Taj Mahal was built, and her husband, Shahjahan. The set features a gorgeous replica of the Taj Mahal made from Makrana marble. There’s also a second show here, Ustav, a dance performance choreographed to a mix of traditional folk music and contemporary tunes.

Kalakriti is located on Taj East Gate Road, a main thoroughfare where many of the larger hotels in Agra are located. It's about a 25-minute walk from the Taj Mahal or a 5-minute drive from the East Gate parking area and is easily accessed by taxi or rickshaw from across the city.

Mohabbat the Taj is presented daily from August through April, with a break in the low season of May through July. Showtimes for the song-and-dance showUstav vary, so it's best to check with the venue or through a tour operator for availability.

While most people come to Kalakriti to see Mohabbat the Taj, it also doubles as a giant handicraft emporium, spanning some 108,000 square feet (10,000 square meters). It's a one-stop shop for all things Agra, with an entire floor dedicated to jewelry, along with sections focusing on carpets from Kashmir and handicrafts and home decor pieces from across India.
