Historic Wyandotte Caves is at 7315 S. Wyandotte Cave Rd. These limestone caverns in the hills of the Harrison-Crawford State Forest were first opened to tourists in the late 19th century. Prehistoric peoples used the caves for shelter and as a source of material for tools. Big Wyandotte Tour is a 2-hour, 1.5-mile trek over steep terrain including stairs and participants must be in good health; ages 0-5 not permitted. Little Wyandotte Tour is a 30- to 45-minute trek over easy to navigate terrain. Note: Comfortable walking shoes and a jacket are recommended; the temperature is a constant 52 F.
