Coolidge Park is located at 150 River Street in Chattanooga, near the Walnut Street Bridge. Many visitors arrive on foot from downtown Chattanooga, but it is also possible to drive and park in the nearby Coolidge Park parking lot. If you’d rather travel by public transportation, you can take the bus to the stop at Frazier Avenue and Forrest Avenue.

This park is open seven days a week and is typically busiest on weekends; for a peaceful experience, plan a visit on a weekday morning instead. The peak season in Chattanooga is during the summer months of July and August, which also coincides with the hottest temperatures of the year. To experience a milder side of the city, opt for a spring or fall trip instead.

Within Coolidge Park, visitors may notice a striking circular landscape of trees known as the Peace Grove, where trees representing each of Chattanooga’s Sister Cities are planted. The grove was planted in 2006 to celebrate global connections and friendships around the world.
