Bali Butterfly Park (Taman Kupu-Kupu Bali)

There is a charge to enter the Bali Butterfly Park. Walk through exhibits with signage in English as well as Indonesian, and interact with the fluttering tropical butterflies. As Bali Butterfly Park is difficult to reach by public transport, many travelers opt to visit as part of a tour headed to other attractions near Tabanan, such as Pura Luhur Batukaru, Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, Mount Batukaru, and Tanah Lot Temple, or as a stop en route from Tabanan to Bedugul.

The Bali Butterfly Park sits about five miles (eight kilometers) north of Tabanan, west Bali, on a road leading to the Jatiluwih rice terraces. To avoid driving through Bali's crazy traffic, private transportation is recommended, either by hiring a private driver or joining an organized tour.

The Bali Butterfly Park is open from morning until late afternoon seven days a week. The best time to visit is before 10am, when the butterflies that flit around the encaged flower gardens are at their liveliest and sipping nectar from flowers. With the exception of Indonesian public holidays, the park is rarely busy.
