From gravity-defying waterslides to palm-lined swimming pools and a relaxing spa pool, Atlantic Park has everything you would expect from one of the region’s top water parks. Less than an hour from Biarritz, the park has something for all ages, from adults and thrill-seeking teens to babies and toddlers.
Atlantic Park entrance tickets include access to the all of the park’s attractions. There are 12 waterslides, with 21 different pistes to try, all graded green, blue, red, or black, depending on the speed, height, and thrill factor. Multiple heated swimming areas are available, as well as a lagoon, lazy river, whirlpool, and spa pools. There’s also an inflatable play area and a dedicated water-play area for children under 5.
It’s worth purchasing skip-the-line tickets in advance to avoid the long ticket queues, especially if visiting in peak season.
On-site facilities include coin-operated lockers, sunbeds and sun umbrellas, Wi-Fi, and a selection of cafés and restaurants.
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
There are swimming areas and activities suitable for all ages, but some slides and activities have height restrictions.
The park and pools are wheelchair-accessible, but not all of the activities are suitable for those with limited mobility.
Atlantic Park is located 28 miles (45 kilometers) north of Biarritz in Seignosse. Buses from nearby towns, such as Bayonne and Dax, stop outside the Tourist Information Office in Seignosse, from which it’s about a 10-minute signposted walk. Alternatively, take a taxi or drive; free parking is available on-site.
Atlantic Park is open from June to early September, but the busiest time is during peak season (July and August), when opening hours are also extended. Plan to get there when the park opens midmorning, especially if you want a sun lounger or umbrella. Look out for special events such as night openings, foam parties, and Aquagym classes throughout the summer.
Atlantic Park is a firm favorite for families vacationing in the French Basque Country, but there are plenty of other fun attractions to add to your itinerary. Visit the AquaZone Wipeout, an inflatable water park on Saint-Pée Lake; spot exotic marine life at the Biarritz Aquarium; enjoy the interactive exhibitions at the Cité de l'Océan; or pack a picnic and spend the day swimming and sunbathing on the Grande Plage.
