Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area

Designated as a National Water Trail, long scenic runs and gentle rapids offer excellent canoeing, rafting and kayaking. Small motorboats are permitted, but there is a limited number of boat ramps. The southernmost public take-out point is Paces Mill on US 41. The park lands and waters are open for day use dawn to dusk. Island Ford visitor center open daily 9-5; closed Christmas. Recreation area admission is $3 per private vehicle, or $35 for an annual permit.
