Dozens of streams and more than 60 lakes offer good trout fishing. Deer and elk hunting is permitted. Within the forest are some 1,100 miles of hiking, mountain biking and ATV trails. There are 29 developed campgrounds and nine undeveloped campgrounds at elevations ranging from 5,500 to 9,300 feet. Scenic drives from Fish Lake to Salina Canyon and from Beaver to Junction are best taken spring through fall; a high-clearance vehicle is recommended on most forest roads.
