NATIONAL PARK

Rainbow Bridge National Monument

The bridge is reached either by a 14-mile hike over rugged terrain, or by boat and—depending on the lake's water level—a 1- to 1.5-mile hike. Backpackers must obtain a permit from the Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation Department to hike the 14-mile trail; contact P.O. Box 2520, Window Rock, AZ 86515, or phone (928) 871-6647.

Regularly scheduled boat tours on Lake Powell provide access to Rainbow Bridge. Tours provided by Lake Powell Resorts & Marina depart from the Wahweap Marina in Arizona; phone (888) 896-3829 for schedule, rates and reservations. Camping and swimming are not permitted within the monument grounds.

For information contact the Superintendent, Rainbow Bridge National Monument, c/o Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, P.O. Box 1507, Page, AZ 86040; phone (928) 608-6200.
