Fremont is a marketing center for the farms of the rich Elkhorn Valley. Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area has more than 20 lakes offering water sports and camping facilities. The Fremont Historic Visitors Center, 605 N. Broad St., features interpretive exhibits about the Lincoln Highway and the former 1895 post office the visitor center is now housed in. The John C. Fremont Days festival celebrates the city's heritage with a rodeo, parade and entertainment on the second full weekend in July.
