The historic Santa Fe Trail passes through downtown Overland Park where you can walk in any direction from 79th Street and Santa Fe Drive to find an eclectic variety of dining, entertainment and shopping venues. Some 300 locally owned, small businesses include restaurants and shops offering arts, gifts and hobby items.The Overland Park Farmers Market is held Saturdays 8-1 at Matt Ross Community Center, 7950 Marty St., from April through November and features more than 70 vendors. The seasonal selection of fruits and vegetables is outstanding. Browse from a variety of baked goods, dairy and meat products, flowers, herbs and spices. Enjoy events including cooking demonstrations, healthy lifestyle fairs and live music.
Take a leisurely stroll past Tuscan-inspired architecture through tree-lined courtyards and enjoy the tranquil sounds of fountains and waterfalls at Corbin Park, 6503 W. 135th St., an open-air retail village. The sprawling mall is anchored by JCPenney, Scheels and Von Maur, and has more than 20 stores and 12 restaurants, from casual to fine dining.
Anchored by department store favorites Dillard's, JCPenney, Macy’s and Nordstrom, the two-story Oak Park Mall, 11149 W. 95th St., has more than 185 boutiques, eateries and specialty stores.
