Fishing, boating, a full-service marina, picnicking, water skiing, swimming and hunting are available at North Sterling State Park, 12 miles north via N. 7th Avenue; phone (970) 522-3657. Types of wildlife that may be found in the area include deer, eagles, pelicans, coyotes, rabbits and many species of waterfowl and shorebirds.
The City of Living Trees is a collection of 12 trees that have been carved into sculptures; some have been bronzed. Located throughout town, the collection includes Skygrazers, a group of five giraffes looking upward.
