The Kreeger Museum is at 2401 Foxhall Rd. N.W. Designed by Philip Johnson, this impressive postmodern structure was once the residence of philanthropists David and Carmen Kreeger. The collection features 19th- and 20th-century paintings and sculptures as well as examples of traditional African and Asian sacred art. A sculpture garden is on the grounds. Guided tours lasting approximately 1 hour highlight works by such artists as Joan Miró, Claude Monet and Pablo Picasso. Note: Backpacks and large bags must be checked; strollers are not permitted inside. Flash photography is prohibited, except outdoors. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
