Two Medicine Valley

Two Medicine Valley is 11 mi. from East Glacier and 7 mi. off SR 49. Features include a lake surrounded by majestic peaks separated by deep, glaciated valleys. Trails for hikers and saddle horse parties radiate to adjacent points of interest; one short trail leads through dense evergreen forest to the foot of Twin Falls. Launch trips across Two Medicine Lake depart daily, early July to early September. A readily accessible .3-mile scenic trail is at Running Eagle Falls, 2 miles below the lake near the road bridge across Two Medicine Creek. A portion of the falls' waters flows from a cave beneath the brink of the main falls. Early in the year it appears to be an ordinary waterfall, but late in the season water issues from the cave alone, and the waterfall above it is dry.
