Our room had cockroaches; after killing one the first night we informed the front desk in the morning which offered to spray the room, but we decided against it because my wife has allergies and hoped it was a onetime occurrence. However, the second night we experienced more of them and we went to the front desk to switch rooms. There were only two rooms left and we inspected the first one where we found a large dead insect and a walking spider, the second room had a strange smell and many carpet stains (dogs are allowed in the hotel) but for some unexplainable reason they were not able to book the room in the computer. That was kind of suspicious, maybe there was a reason for that and we decided to stay in the original room and killed any insects we found. It was Labor Day weekend and to look for a new hotel would have been cumbersome. The staff has been very friendly. Pictures of the insects are attached.
