| Colonial Williamsburg is America's largest living history museum. It is the original site of the 18th-century capital of the colony of Virginia, where George Washington, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson and other patriots advanced the principles of liberty before and during the Revolution. Many of the buildings open to ticket holders are original to the 18th century; others are reconstructed on their original foundations. Some people say a visit to Colonial Williamsburg is the most important vacation in America. |
