Calling All Student Artists

New Jersey Students Invited to Participate in Traffic Safety Poster Contest

AAA New Jersey invites Morris, Essex and Union County students to participate in AAA's 66th annual Traffic Safety Poster Contest. The program encourages creativity and represents a unique opportunity for students to communicate safety messages to their peers.

Now through February 12, 2010, students will have the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents and traffic safety knowledge on the subjects of pedestrian, child passenger and novice driver safety.

Grades K-8: Students may submit an original hand-drawn poster.
Grades 9-12: Students may submit a hand-drawn poster, a graphic art/digitally enhanced design or a one- to two-minute video public service announcement.

All competition entries are judged locally and nationally by AAA's traffic safety experts and are eligible for various forms of recognition. Entries are judged on the relationship of the entry to proper traffic safety practices, originality, creativity and execution, visual impact and relevance of the slogan. AAA New Jersey's top submissions will advance to the national competition to compete against students from across the U.S. In addition to receiving more than $18,000 in prize money, the national winners will be featured on the AAA Exchange Web site at AAA.com/publicaffairs.
